Notebook Organization
Please use the following the example to set up your math notebook.
Organizing Your Math Binder
Your Math Binder should have 5 dividers which will be arranged in the following labeled sections:
Section 1: Keepers
In this section of your notebook you should keep items such as:
Assignment Sheets
Grade Recording Sheets
Formula Charts
Study Guides/Reviews
Organizing your Math Notebook Sheet
Math Class Letter
Section 2: Do Nows
In this section you will work-out ‘Do Now’ problems daily. Always make sure you make up any Do Nows that are missed from any absence. Do Nows should always include a date, all work, answer letter, and answer with units. Keep this section all year.
Section 3: Classwork/Homework
This is your safe place to try out ideas and store your interactive notebook. Class notes and examples will be recorded daily in the interactive notebook. You should also have 8.5” x 11” loose-leaf paper in this section for working homework problems. All assignments need to include your name, period, date, and title. Remember to always show all your work! Keep this section all year.
Section 4: Assessment
You will place graded and returned quizzes, exams, classwork, and homework in this section. This section will be used in conjunction with the Grade Recording Sheet to calculate your current math average.
Section 5: Vocabulary
This is where you will keep weekly vocabulary lists and definitions for the math terminology that is important and essential to the concepts covered in the curriculum. Keep this section all year.
